Romania's plan to resume sheep and goat exports has been approved by the European Commission, allowing for differentiated vaccination based on epidemiological risk. The country will receive 1.3 million vaccine doses for free. While the approval paves the way for trade resumption, further procedures are required before actual exports can begin. The strategy includes full vaccination in high-risk areas and limited vaccination elsewhere to maintain disease-free status. Romania has signed export agreements with six countries and is negotiating with seven more. However, the European Commission must adopt a new decision to recognize the country's disease-free status before exports can resume.
