Comisia Europeană a adoptat regulamentul EU KIDS ACT

The European Commission has adopted the "EU KIDS ACT" to prohibit children under 13 from accessing social media and set the minimum age for account creation at 15. The regulation shifts the burden of proof to service providers, requiring them to demonstrate age-appropriate and safe services. For children aged 13 to 15, parents can create mini-accounts with limited access. The law mandates safety measures in online services for users under 18, including restrictions on addictive features and unsolicited contacts. Age verification tools must be implemented to protect privacy, and existing accounts must estimate user age reasonably. The proposal is now under legislative review by the European Parliament and Council.
