The Ethics Committee of the National Defense University will investigate allegations of plagiarism in Lucian Pahonțu's doctoral thesis, which reportedly contains over 30% copied content. The university confirmed the formation of a committee to review the thesis following a complaint. Pahonțu, who defended his thesis in 2003, is accused of copying from various sources, including a 1976 Security document. The university has not previously checked the thesis for similarities using software, despite regulations requiring such checks. Notably, Pahonțu allegedly plagiarized from works authored by three members of the committee that evaluated his thesis.
