Comisarul european pentru migrație: Imaginile cu migranții din Ceuta „alimentează extrema dreaptă”, deși numărul sosirilor ilegale în UE este în scădere

European Commissioner for Migration Magnus Brunner stated that images of migrants in Ceuta are fueling support for far-right parties, despite a decrease in illegal arrivals in the EU. Over 72,000 migrants entered Ceuta from Morocco, with around 12,000 remaining. Brunner emphasized the importance of returning migrants quickly to demonstrate control over the situation. He also discussed a proposed emergency framework to manage migrant flows, highlighting the need for implementation of existing agreements. Anti-immigration sentiments have significantly influenced European politics since the 2015 migrant crisis, leading to stricter policies. Brunner defended the EU's discussions with the Taliban regarding the return of Afghan citizens, stressing the priority of European security.
