European Commissioner for Equality, Hadja Lahbib, highlighted Romania's significant role in emergency response, noting its requests for aid and assistance to other countries over the past decade. Romania has sought help through the Civil Protection Mechanism ten times and has responded to calls for assistance nearly 50 times. Lahbib emphasized Romania's strong emergency response system and its contributions, including the evacuation of patients from conflict zones. Additionally, she mentioned that a significant portion of firefighters prepositioned in Europe for wildfire response are from Romania, showcasing the country's preparedness and commitment to aiding others in crisis situations.
