Comerțul online din România ar putea ajunge la 13,5 miliarde de euro în 2026
The Romanian e-commerce sector is projected to reach €13.5 billion by 2026, following a 10% growth to €12.9 billion in 2025. This growth outpaces the European average of 7%. Despite high internet usage, only 60% of Romanians aged 16-74 shop online, with expectations to rise to 65% in 2026. Trust in online merchants is crucial for further growth, as emphasized by ARMO's executive director. The association also stresses the need for consistent consumer protection rules for non-EU merchants. A workshop on consumer protection legislation and best practices will be held, featuring Mastercard's insights on the future of e-commerce, particularly AI's role in enhancing consumer experiences.
