In the first five months of 2026, wholesale trade turnover, excluding vehicles, saw a modest increase compared to the same period in 2025, but declined compared to May 2025. The National Institute of Statistics reported a 1.1% rise in gross series and a 1.2% increase in seasonally adjusted series. Positive results were driven by specialized wholesale trade of other products and consumer goods, while declines were noted in non-specialized wholesale and agricultural products. In May 2026, turnover increased by 0.9% from April, but decreased by 1.7% compared to May 2025, with significant drops in intermediary activities and non-specialized wholesale.
