Adrian Codirlașu, president of CFA Romania, suggested that foreign investors may have sold Romanian lei bonds, contributing to the currency's depreciation. He noted a correlation between rising state bond yields and the slight decline of the leu against the euro. Additionally, he emphasized the importance of continuing reforms to ensure a sustainable budget deficit, as indicated by feedback from rating agencies and investment banks. The leu depreciated to its lowest value against the euro this year, with the National Bank of Romania reporting a rate of 5.2788 lei per euro.
