A coalition in the Romanian Parliament, including PSD, PNL, AUR, USR, and UDMR, approved a law increasing the tax exemption limit for homemade spirits. The law raises the exemption from 50 to 200 liters of țuică and palincă produced for personal consumption. President Nicușor Dan requested a reexamination of the law, arguing it does not comply with EU directives and could lead to infringement issues. The amendment, proposed by PSD deputy Mircea Govor, passed with 225 votes in favor. The law will return to President Dan for promulgation as the Chamber of Deputies is the decision-making body.
