CNSU aprobă măsuri de urgență pentru Cernavodă

The Romanian government has implemented emergency measures to ensure water supply for the cooling systems at the Cernavodă Nuclear Power Plant due to low Danube water levels. A dam is being constructed to redirect water to the plant, while dredging operations continue in the area. Hydroelectrica will release additional water from the Olt River to support both the Danube's levels and electricity production. The Danube-Black Sea Canal is designated as an operational reserve, with emergency pumps prepared for potential needs. The situation is critical as the severe drought impacts the national energy system.
