CNSAS to seek EU funding for digitisation of secret police archives, institution's vice-president says

The National Council for the Study of the Securitate Archives plans to seek European funding for digitizing public interest archives during an upcoming meeting in Bucharest. CNSAS vice-president Madalin Hodor emphasized the need for a dedicated funding line for digitization, as previous attempts have faced challenges. He highlighted the importance of these archives in combating extremism and misinformation. The meeting will also address the role of archival institutions in preserving history. Additionally, CNSAS is launching an exhibition in Tulcea to promote local historical memory through archival documents.
