CNN: „Problema chinezească” și cât de vulnerabile devenit cele mai secrete baze militare ale SUA în fața dronelor ieftine de spionaj
In spring 2025, a quadcopter drone was spotted over a missile testing site in New Mexico, suspected of conducting reconnaissance for China. This incident followed a similar occurrence in fall 2024. U.S. authorities tracked the drone for 55 kilometers before it entered Mexican airspace. After five days of observation, the drone was forced to land using electronic warfare tools. Two groups of Chinese nationals were apprehended nearby, suspected of being linked to Chinese intelligence. The Chinese embassy denied any involvement. The U.S. faces challenges in addressing drone incursions, with no single agency responsible for countering these threats. A special Pentagon team was formed to coordinate anti-drone efforts, but vulnerabilities remain.
