CNAIR has requested the Romanian government to extend the implementation deadline for the TollRo system and road tolls until April 1, 2027. The company warns that without legislative changes, a legal payment obligation for freight transport may arise from October 1, despite the absence of a functional payment system. CNAIR has not received a response to its request sent on September 7, and the technical system is still undergoing testing. The pilot phase of TollRo began on September 16, allowing drivers to test the application. CNAIR emphasizes that the extension is necessary to align the legal deadline with the actual capability to comply with the toll requirements. The company also seeks additional staffing and the establishment of a national road pricing service.
