In Assam, India, floating clinics are providing essential healthcare to isolated communities living on numerous islands. These clinics address the lack of medical infrastructure and personnel in the region. Approximately 20,000 people benefit monthly, focusing on maternal and child health. Despite improvements, infant and maternal mortality rates remain concerning. The initiative, started in 2005, is supported by local authorities and UNICEF, with 15 clinics currently operational.
