Claudiu Manda, the PSD secretary general, stated that the party is not afraid of early elections but warned of potential significant costs for Romania. He emphasized that if early elections occur, the process could take at least six months, involving multiple steps such as rejecting a second proposed government and dissolving Parliament. Manda highlighted the complications of having an interim government during this period and the challenges in organizing elections, especially for the diaspora. According to internal polls, PSD could secure at least 24% of the votes, which is an improvement from the previous election's 21%.
