The Romanian Consulate in Odesa announced that first-grade classes in Romanian will continue in Orlivka, following a reversal of a previous closure decision by Ukrainian authorities. Diplomatic efforts led by Consul Claudiu Tătaru were crucial in securing this outcome. Discussions involved local officials and community representatives, emphasizing the importance of education in the mother tongue. Romanian Foreign Minister Nicușor Dan confirmed an investigation into the initial closure, highlighting progress in bilateral relations regarding the Romanian minority. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky acknowledged isolated school closures but assured that Romanian schools will remain open.
