Ciucu trage un semnal de alarmă după pana de curent din Capitală: „Vom face achiziţie de generatoare noi”

The mayor of Bucharest, Ciprian Ciucu, emphasized the need for the city to enhance its emergency response capacity for energy outages by acquiring new generators for hospitals and essential institutions. He clarified that electricity supply is regulated by the Ministry of Energy and managed by private operators. Ciucu highlighted the reliance on backup systems during extensive power outages and discussed budget allocations for new generators. He also pointed out the aging electrical infrastructure in communist-era neighborhoods, which cannot support increased demand. Recent power outages in Pipera, Aviației, and Otopeni underscored these vulnerabilities.
