Ciucu, despre transportul metropolitan București-Ilfov: Unele trasee ar putea fi scurtate. Bucureștiul suportă 90% din subvenție

Bucharest's mayor, Ciprian Ciucu, discussed potential changes to the metropolitan transport system with Ilfov mayors, suggesting route adjustments to reduce costs. Currently, Bucharest covers 90% of the public transport subsidy for Ilfov, amounting to around 250 million lei annually. Ciucu criticized the size of the transport association's staff and proposed transferring decision-making power to the Board of Directors. He emphasized the need for a new organizational structure to alleviate financial pressure on Bucharest. The meeting resulted in an agreement to create a new organizational chart, subject to a vote by the General Assembly. Ciucu aims to optimize routes without significantly impacting public transport accessibility.
