Ciucu, despre protestul neautorizat din Piața Victoriei: „Siguranța ține de Jandarmerie și MAI” / Ce poate face Primăria Capitalei

The Mayor of Bucharest, Ciprian Ciucu, stated that the responsibility for public safety during protests lies with the Gendarmerie and other relevant institutions. Following violent clashes during an unauthorized protest by shepherds, Ciucu condemned the violence but emphasized the right to peaceful protest. He clarified that the local administration does not control public order devices or dictate Gendarmerie actions. Ciucu mentioned the need for evaluations of damages caused during the protest and expressed a desire to recover costs. The protest, which began over grievances from sheep and goat breeders, escalated into violence, resulting in injuries to Gendarmerie personnel and several arrests. Authorities have initiated criminal cases related to the incidents.
