The Mayor of Bucharest, Ciprian Ciucu, announced that the Basarab Bridge works are on schedule, with traffic expected to open fully on September 7. Starting August 21, traffic will be allowed on the Bd. Titulescu – Șos. Grozăvești route in both directions. Ongoing works include repairs and upgrades to ensure safety and functionality. The bridge, operational since 2011-2012, had not been properly maintained, leading to its current state. Ciucu assured that the bridge will be restored and maintained properly from next year.
