Ciucu convoacă de urgență Consiliul General pentru insolvența STB: Costurile și datoriile companiei înghit peste 80% din bugetul Capitalei

The Mayor of Bucharest, Ciprian Ciucu, has called for an urgent council meeting to initiate insolvency proceedings for the Bucharest Transport Company (STB). He argues that this is the only viable solution to prevent bankruptcy, protect employee salaries, and stop accumulating penalties. Ciucu emphasizes that the financial situation of STB is dire, with debts exceeding 1.72 billion lei, and warns that creditors are seeking to freeze the company's accounts. He insists that insolvency would allow for a structured restructuring plan under judicial supervision. Despite his reluctance to pursue insolvency, he believes it is necessary to safeguard the public transport system and avoid further financial deterioration.
