Circa 1.000 au fost sâmbătă în fața Arestului Central, în a 5-a seară de proteste pentru Călin Georgescu
On Saturday evening, around 1,000 supporters protested outside the Central Arrest in Bucharest for Călin Georgescu, who has been in preventive detention since Tuesday. The protests, now in their fifth day, featured chants like "A sincere wish: a free Romania" and "Călin Georgescu is president." Georgescu is accused of defrauding a businessman of 1.1 million euros and is facing serious charges from DIICOT. AUR leader George Simion called for mobilization and mentioned discussing Georgescu's arrest at an international youth congress in Poland. The allegations stem from a failed business deal involving precious metals, where the victim was misled into paying significant sums without receiving the promised loan.
