The mayor of Bucharest, Ciprian Ciucu, announced that the Bucharest Transport Company (STB) has filed a new insolvency request after the first was rejected. Ciucu emphasized the importance of ensuring the stability of public transport and the city's finances. He noted that the previous request was dismissed due to missing documents, despite assurances from STB management that everything was in order. Ciucu had previously urged for a swift decision on insolvency to protect the company and its employees, as STB has been in a 'de facto bankruptcy' since 2020. The City Council approved the insolvency procedure on July 21.
