Bucharest will receive €87 million in non-repayable funds for public transport modernization. The funds will be used to purchase new trams, trolleybuses, and electric buses to reduce pollution and improve urban traffic efficiency. Mayor Ciprian Ciucu announced that the investment will allow for the acquisition of 10 new trams, 45 trolleybuses, and 40 electric buses, replacing older models. This funding, confirmed by the European Investment Bank, is aimed at enhancing the quality of public transport and reducing emissions. The next step involves ensuring charging infrastructure for the electric buses.
