Ciprian Ciucu, the mayor of Bucharest, is advocating for the insolvency of STB to ensure salary payments and prevent the city's bankruptcy. He emphasized that without insolvency, STB risks direct bankruptcy. Ciucu urged the STB management to convene immediately to initiate the insolvency process, highlighting that it would protect the company from accumulating further penalties, especially from ANAF, its main creditor. He noted that the financial situation of STB is dire, attributing it to unpaid employee contributions and mismanagement over the past years. Insolvency could allow for a significant reduction of debts if a reorganization plan is approved.
