Ciprian Ciucu anunță intrarea în insolvență a STB: „Cererea a fost depusă în instanță”

The Bucharest Transport Company (STB) has filed for insolvency due to debts exceeding 3 billion lei, as announced by Mayor Ciprian Ciucu. He believes this step will help save the company. Ciucu highlighted that public transport costs the city 34% of its budget, and combined with debts, it equals the entire budget of the municipality. The request for insolvency was submitted to the Bucharest Tribunal, with assurances that public transport services and employee salaries will remain unaffected. Investments in transport infrastructure will continue, including the modernization of depots and tram lines.
