The Mayor of Bucharest, Ciprian Ciucu, urgently convened construction companies and utility operators to address traffic issues due to 63 active construction sites as the new school year begins on September 7. These sites, particularly 35 of them, are expected to significantly impact traffic on 30 major roads and 45 critical intersections. With 230 educational institutions located near these sites, the mayor emphasized the need for effective traffic management. Solutions discussed include police presence at affected intersections, ensuring pedestrian access, and coordinating construction work to minimize disruptions. Future construction projects will be postponed unless urgent, to alleviate traffic congestion during the school season.
