Mihai Laurențiu Gioară will temporarily replace Cosmin Ghiță as the CEO of Nuclearelectrica starting October 3, 2026. Gioară has a background in political science and law, transitioning from public administration to the energy sector. He has held various positions within Nuclearelectrica since 2021, including Director of Development and Management of Participations. His experience includes overseeing significant investment projects, such as the modernization of Unit 1 at Cernavodă. His interim mandate will last up to five months, with a potential two-month extension. Nuclearelectrica is currently engaged in major projects to enhance Romania's energy system.
