Sebastian Stroia, director of the Sibiu Medical-Social Assistance Unit, was detained for 24 hours on bribery charges related to facilitating elderly admissions. Investigations revealed he allegedly demanded illegal payments disguised as donations, totaling over 56,000 lei. Stroia, a 41-year-old with a background in theology and hospital management, has been in his position since February 2020. He previously managed a psychiatric hospital and has a diverse professional history. Following extensive searches in Sibiu and Cluj, he faces potential preventive arrest as the case unfolds.
