The EU member states have approved five defense projects eligible for EU budget funding, focusing on space, air, and maritime defense, including counter-drone measures. These projects, known as European Defense Projects of Common Interest (EDPCI), enable collaborative defense initiatives that are too complex for individual countries. The projects include DECODER, IMSD, SPACE, EU-FIAMD, and EFW, initially proposed by the European Commission. A budget of €325 million has been allocated for these initiatives, which aim to enhance the EU's defense capabilities and support the defense industry. The Commission will monitor progress and provide financial support for implementation.
