Cinci proiecte din România, selectate de Comisia Europeană

The European Commission has selected 46 new strategic projects for critical raw materials across 16 EU member states, including five in Romania. These Romanian projects focus on battery recycling, graphite and magnesium extraction, and magnesium processing. The initiatives aim to reduce dependency on external suppliers and enhance the EU's capabilities in extraction, processing, and recycling. Among the selected projects, one involves establishing a battery recycling facility in Răcari, while another focuses on metallic magnesium processing. The projects are part of the European Critical Raw Materials Act, which sets targets for internal extraction, processing, and recycling by 2030. A new call for strategic project applications is expected by the end of 2026.
