Cinci persoane din România, trimise în judecată de Parchetul European pentru că ar fi pus la cale o fraudă de 1,8 milioane de euro prin trucarea unor contracte publice finanțate de Uniunea Europeană

The European Public Prosecutor's Office has charged five individuals for forming a criminal group to defraud public procurement procedures in Romania, benefiting from EU funds. The group operated from 2017 to 2022, targeting rural localities in Dolj County. They allegedly submitted false documents to secure contracts related to EU-funded programs aimed at social inclusion and poverty alleviation. A total of 22 fraudulent procurement procedures are estimated to have caused a loss of 1.8 million euros. If convicted, the accused face prison sentences ranging from three years to over ten years.
