In the first five months of 2026, industrial turnover decreased by 1.6% compared to the same period last year, driven by a 1.7% drop in manufacturing. However, the extractive industry saw a 2.3% increase. Notable declines occurred in durable goods and capital goods industries, both down 5.6%. In contrast, the energy sector grew by 11.6%. Month-on-month, industrial turnover rose by 6.1% in May, with significant gains in the extractive and manufacturing sectors. Year-on-year, turnover fell by 0.5%, primarily due to a 1.2% decrease in manufacturing, while the extractive industry surged by 19.7%.
