Ciclul apocalipsei pe Pământ: Catastrofele la 27 mil. de ani
A new study suggests that extreme events like earthquakes and volcanic eruptions may follow a recurring cycle of approximately 27 million years, linked to deep Earth processes or the Solar System's movement through the galaxy. Michael Rampino analyzed 89 major geological events over 260 million years, finding a potential correlation with this cycle. He proposes that periodic changes in mantle circulation could intensify geological activity, leading to mass extinctions. Additionally, variations in Earth's orbit and the Solar System's position in the Milky Way may influence these events. Rampino warns that the next geological upheaval could occur within two million years, though these theories remain speculative.
