Christine Lagarde anunţă ce se va întâmpla cu banii cash în UE după introducerea euro digital

Christine Lagarde, President of the ECB, reassured that the digital euro will coexist with cash and not replace it. The European Parliament has approved the negotiation mandate for the digital euro initiative, aiming for legislative completion by the end of 2026. Lagarde emphasized that the digital euro is designed to adapt public money to the digital economy, not to monitor citizens' transactions. She also announced plans for a new design of euro banknotes, stating that cash will be modernized but remain in circulation. The initiative aims to reduce Europe's dependence on foreign payment infrastructures.
