China interzice Windows 10 în instituțiile de stat

China's Ministry of State Security has ordered the removal of a customized version of Windows 10 from state-linked organizations, accelerating its planned phase-out by 2027. This directive has led to a surge in shares of local operating system providers. The software, developed by a joint venture between Microsoft and a state-owned company, is tailored for government use, removing certain features and allowing for local encryption algorithms. Despite Microsoft's global support ending for Windows 10, the CMIT version remains the only approved Windows for Chinese government institutions. The campaign to replace foreign computers in government has seen limited success in the consumer market, with Windows still dominating desktop traffic in China.
