Chad Gilbert, founding member and guitarist of New Found Glory, passed away on September 20 at 45 after battling serious health issues. His wife, Lisa Cimorelli, and the band announced his death, stating he died peacefully in his sleep surrounded by loved ones. Gilbert was instrumental in shaping the band's identity since its formation in 1997, contributing to their success in the pop-punk genre with hits like "My Friends Over You". He had been diagnosed with a rare form of cancer in 2021, leading to multiple health challenges, including brain surgery. He is survived by his wife and daughter, Lily.
