CFR SA has initiated a tender worth 4.09 billion lei for railway infrastructure maintenance across seven regional branches over four years. The aim is to enhance safety and eliminate speed restrictions on railway sections. The tender is divided into seven lots, each valued at 584.5 million lei, with contracts to be signed for four years. The funding comes from the state budget, focusing on replacing tracks and improving railway structures. The ultimate goal is to restore railway sections to their designed speed parameters and lift speed restrictions where feasible. Offers will be evaluated based on the best quality-price ratio, with a deadline for submissions set for November 23, 2026.
