CFR is modernizing a 32-kilometer railway section between Herculane and Poarta, aiming for a maximum speed of 120 km/h. The project, part of the Orient/East-Mediterranean Corridor, involves a consultancy contract worth 18.6 million lei, awarded to a consortium led by ISPCF SA. The total duration of the contract is 183 months, with completion expected by 2031. The modernization will enhance Romania's transport infrastructure, ensuring compliance with European interoperability standards and improving safety and efficiency. Key upgrades include new signaling systems, tunnel constructions, and enhanced track geometry.
