The president of Ceuta, Juan Jesus Vivas, has requested EU assistance to protect the territory following the arrival of approximately 70,000 migrants from Morocco. He described the situation as tense and warned that Ceuta is under pressure. Vivas accused Morocco of being behind the mass influx, suggesting that such a large number of people could not mobilize without the Moroccan authorities' awareness. He called for a permanent EU presence in Ceuta, particularly through Frontex, and urged for a firm European response to the situation. Additionally, he requested financial aid from the EU to manage the crisis and improve local infrastructure. Meanwhile, Spain's Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez stated there is no evidence of Moroccan involvement in the migrant surge.
