A 59-year-old man from Huși, Marcel Butucea, was caught begging in Iași and had over 9,000 lei confiscated by local police. Despite being in a wheelchair and having an amputated leg, he reportedly owns multiple cars, including a Lexus. He was reported for causing a disturbance near the Mitropolia and had previously begged for about 10 hours. Upon police intervention, he became aggressive and insulted officers, leading to his arrest. The confiscated money was identified as earnings from begging, and he was found to have assistance in transporting his audio equipment for street performances.
