Cernavoda nuclear power plant shut down procedure to begin on Thursday morning, says Defence Minister Radu Miruta
Defence Minister Radu Miruta announced that the Danube's water level at Cernavoda has dropped to 182 centimeters, prompting the nuclear power plant's shutdown procedures to commence. The process, starting Thursday morning, is well-defined and involves a gradual reduction in capacity. Miruta noted that previous measures extended the plant's operation by several days, which he considers a partial success. He emphasized the importance of careful management in nuclear operations and the collaboration with Nuclearelectrica to optimize the plant's functioning despite challenging conditions.
