Cercetătorii trag un semnal de alarmă: privitul excesiv la televizor, asociat cu leziuni cerebrale și probleme de memorie

A recent study indicates that excessive television watching may negatively impact brain health, particularly in middle-aged adults. Those who frequently watched TV showed reduced brain volumes in memory-related areas and increased white matter lesions, linked to cognitive decline and dementia. The research analyzed data from around 1,700 adults over 20 years, revealing significant structural brain differences between frequent viewers and those who rarely watched TV. Notably, the study found that sedentary behavior alone did not account for these changes, suggesting the nature of the activity is crucial. Additionally, men appeared more affected than women, highlighting a potential vulnerability that requires further investigation.
