Australian researchers have developed a detailed map of chemical signals that regulate heart function, aiding in heart disease diagnosis and treatment. The online resource, Cardiopedia-Ligand, catalogs how human cardiac tissue responds to 87 signaling molecules. Using human cardiac organoids, the study generated comprehensive data linking biological signaling to heart function and gene activity. This atlas is publicly available for global researchers and is part of a larger initiative aimed at testing around 2,000 drug compounds to enhance heart disease treatment. The ultimate goal is to personalize medicine for effective heart failure therapies.
