Cercetătorii au descoperit de ce unii oameni încă nu pot simți gustul mâncării după COVID-19
Researchers have found that some individuals still struggle with taste perception over a year after COVID-19 due to changes in taste buds. A study revealed molecular and structural alterations in taste cells, linking persistent taste disorders to measurable changes. The research involved 28 participants with taste issues, showing abnormal results in some and difficulties with specific tastes. Reduced levels of a key protein, PLCβ2, were identified, affecting taste signal transmission. Additionally, structural disorganization in taste buds was noted, suggesting both molecular and structural changes contribute to ongoing taste dysfunction. Further research is needed to explore potential treatments and recovery.
