Cercetătorii au creat șoareci cu țesut cerebral uman. Experimentul, coordonat de un român de la Universitatea Stanford
Researchers have successfully created mice with human brain tissue, led by a Romanian scientist at Stanford University. They replaced missing brain sections in mice with human cells, allowing for the study of early brain development. These brain organoids, while not perfect replicas, can help investigate diseases and normal brain growth. The study showed that transplanted organoids grew and formed better connections than those grown in lab dishes. Although the human tissue did not organize like a typical human brain, it included various cell types found in the human cortex. Ethical questions arise regarding animal welfare and potential cognitive abilities conferred by human tissue. The research could aid in understanding conditions like cerebral palsy and autism.
