Cercetările arheologice, reluate în Cetătea Alba Carolina. ”Porțiile mileniilor”: Trei vestigii importante, pe același aliniament

Archaeological research has resumed at Alba Carolina Fortress, focusing on three significant gates from different historical periods. The gates include the Praetorian Gate of the XIII Gemina Legion, the medieval St. George Gate, and the Carol Gate of the bastion fortress. Excavations have revealed a complex structure with layers from the Roman era to the medieval period, highlighting the site's historical importance. The project is funded by the Alba County Council and coordinated by Dr. Anca Timofan from the National Museum of Union in Alba Iulia. The findings aim to enhance the site's potential as a tourist attraction, showcasing the evolution of fortifications in Alba Iulia's history.
