Centrala nucleară Paks din Ungaria ar putea rămâne oprită mai multe săptămâni

Hungary's Paks nuclear power plant, which supplies about half of the country's electricity, may remain offline for weeks due to record low Danube water levels. Prime Minister Peter Magyar indicated that the plant's reactors are currently operating at under 50% capacity and will be fully shut down. This shutdown coincides with a heatwave expected to increase electricity demand by 20%. The government has urged industrial companies to reduce their energy consumption. The reactors rely on Danube water for cooling, and safe operation can only resume once water levels rise significantly, which is not anticipated in the coming weeks.
