Centrala de la Iernut, proiect strategic pentru Sistemul Energetic Național, va intra în probă în această iarnă după un deceniu de blocaje
The Iernut power plant is set to begin testing this winter and operate at full capacity by early next year, according to interim Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan. This strategic project, under development for nearly a decade, aims to address the energy production deficit in central and western Romania. Romgaz has taken over the project, which is 90% complete, and is working to finalize contracts with subcontractors. The plant will help balance the national energy system and alleviate pressure on electricity transport infrastructure. Bolojan emphasized the importance of this investment for the local economy, particularly in relation to fertilizer production.
