Centrala de la Cernavodă se oprește complet în dimineața zilei de joi, 13 august

The Cernavodă nuclear power plant will be completely shut down on August 13 due to low Danube water levels affecting cooling systems. The river's flow has dropped below 1,400 cubic meters per second, making safe reactor operation impossible. The shutdown will be gradual, with 700 megawatts removed from the national grid. The Energy Ministry plans to compensate by activating coal-based energy and hydroelectric capacity. While there are no immediate risks to electricity supply in the EU, the situation remains uncertain for the following week.
